In the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Play it Forward Zambia has continued to provide support to the most vulnerable members of society through the provision of COVID-19 prevention materials such as face masks, soap and hand washing stations.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, a lot of people in Zambia have lost their livelihoods and are struggling to sustain themselves and their families.
As part of our empowerment initiative during this difficult time, we have engaged local women in Livingstone to make washable masks for our football players and children that attend classes in the schools we support. Two of these women are Alice and Vainness, who are mothers to some of our female football players at our football academy in Livingstone.
So far, they have made over 1,000 face masks that have been distributed to children all over Southern Province.
Alice thanks Play it Forward Zambia for giving her the opportunity to make masks for the young people, adding that the money raised in making the masks will be used to buy food and other household essentials for her family.
