Play it Forward acquires land for new community sports and education complex in Livingstone
Play it Forward is delighted to announce the acquisition of a piece of land on the edge of Livingstone, Zambia – a major milestone in our mission to empower young people through sports, education, and health.

This new 10-acre site site will become the future home of our Community Sports and Education Complex, creating a safe and inspiring environment where young people can develop their talents on and off the pitch. The land will provide space for high-quality football pitches, basketball, netball and volleyball courts, classrooms, training areas, kitchen and community facilities designed to serve both Play it Forward and the wider Livingstone community.
“This is a historic step for Play it Forward,” said Founder & Chairman Oliver Brendon. “Since 2018, we’ve grown from a small foundation into a thriving charity and football club that supports thousands of children in Southern Zambia every year. The land enables us to build a permanent base for Play it Forward in Livingstone that will benefit future generations.”
Play it Forward is committed to advancing gender equality in sport. Our women’s team, who have competed in the FAZ Women’s Super League and currently play in the Women’s National Division, stand as role models for young girls across Zambia. This new facility will ensure that girls have the same opportunities as boys to train, compete, and excel at every level.
Importantly, it will also host education and skills programmes – from literacy and coding to health workshops and nutritional support – ensuring that young people have opportunities to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
CEO Jake Criswick added: “This land acquisition is more than just about football, it’s about building a hub for opportunity. Our vision is to create a safe space where children can learn, play, and thrive, and where the community can come together to support the next generation of community leaders.”
Play it Forward will share more details and designs in the coming months as development plans progress.
