Play it Forward Queens: Making History Again!
Play it Forward is buzzing with excitement and pride as our girls’ football team has made history once again. They have been promoted to the Zambia National Super League for the second time, becoming Livingstone’s first female football team to achieve this feat twice. The hard work of the talented players and the strategic guidance of the coaches have led to this well-deserved promotion.
Coach Selina and Starford, the driving force behind the team’s success, expressed their sentiments and pride in the team’s achievement:
“This promotion is a result of relentless effort and teamwork. It was our dream to earn this promotion, and now that we have it, our new goal is to maintain our position and continue going higher. Our players have shown immense growth and resilience. They have truly earned this moment.”
“Being the first team from Livingstone to achieve this twice is not just a victory for us but for the entire community. It will allow the girls to showcase their talent more competitively.”
This promotion is a milestone for the team and an inspiration for young girls in Livingstone and beyond. The players, too, are excited and motivated by this historic promotion.
“We’ve worked so hard, and to see our efforts pay off like this is incredible. We lacked confidence the first time we qualified, but we’re now ready to take on the challenges of the Super League.”
“Playing in the National Super League has always been our dream. Achieving this for the second time shows that we are not just lucky but skilled and determined.”
Last season, every tackle and pass the team made was strategic and carried the weight of their dream to play in the Super League. Now, they are ready for their first game, set to be played on 17th August against ZANACO. Join us in wishing them luck!
